Tuesday Night Outreach

On the 1st and 3rd Tuesday Nights of every month from 5:30- 7:00 pm Trinity volunteers provide bags of food and/or emergency financial aid to folks who have cut-off notices for electric, utilities or gas for heat/air conditioning. We also provide financial assistance for folks having an eviction notice for rent and a resource list of other places available in the community where they may seek assistance.

Volunteers interview the folks who sign in and asses their needs. They also maintain files and do the necessary paperwork for writing checks. Other volunteers pack bags of groceries and distribute them. The food that is distributed comes from the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank and volunteers shop every Tuesday morning at the Food Bank and bring the food to Trinity. Other volunteers unpack the boxes of food and set up spaces for interviewing.

Food to stock our pantry shelves is brought in on Sunday mornings by many folks in our congregation. They also donate money to the Food Band Truck Load Fund which pays for the food which is bought at the Food Bank. There is always a need for new volunteers in all these areas. Please contact Joanne Beck if you would like to help in this ministry.
